The Changes of Korean Public Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents - Challenges for Mental Health Promotion
Bae Eun-Kyung

Abstract
This study explored the process of the change in mental health services for children and adolescents in South Korea and to project their future development direction. The policies and academic materials issued between 1990 and 2014 and are related to the mental health of children and adolescents were analyzed. The results showed that mental health services for children and adolescents in South Korea are currently in a transition stage from the embryonic and formative stages, and that the concepts of prevention and promotion have been in mixed use for the process of the delivery of the mental health services. Therefore, proactive measures for the development of mental health services for children and adolescents in South Korea based on the concept of the universal promotion of mental health were suggested.
